Szombat délután Los Angelesben a Reach Out Worldwide elnevezésű jótékonysági rendezvény után ült be egy próbakörre a Porschéba. A sofőr egyik barátja volt, aki elvesztette uralmát az autó felett, majd egy oszlopnak ütközött. A kocsi kigyulladt, és mindketten benne égtek.

A színész 15 éves lányát hagyta hátra. A Halálos Iramban filmsorozat hetedik epizódját jövő nyáron mutatják be. Paul Walker halála mindenkit villámcsapásként ért. 40 éves volt. Sztárok tucatjai búcsúznak tőle a közösségi oldalakon.
